Storage Ideas for Small Spaces
If you live in a house or apartment with limited storage space, you know it can be a challenge to store all of your belongings. Sure, you could store some stuff behind the kitchen door or piled up in a corner of your bedroom, but for a long-term solution, these ideas are just not practical. The good news is that there are better storage solutions out there. Here are some great storage ideas for small spaces.
Under the Staircase– If you have a staircase in your home, the underside is often a great storage area that is often unused. By adding a butler’s pantry under the stairs, you can easily store tableware that is only used for special occasions.
Under the Bed – The area underneath your bed is a great storage spot. You can store items underneath without anything being seen. Store seasonal clothing under the bed in plastic totes.
Shoe Rack on Bedroom Door– Over the door shoe racks are perfect for storing all those shoes, out of the way and unseen. Most of these shoe racks can easily store up to 20 pairs of sandals, sneakers, flip flops, loafers and heels.
Coffee Table/Chest Storage– Most furniture stores carry living room chests that also double as a coffee table. The chest/coffee table can store household items that you don’t use on a daily basis.
Ceiling Hanger in Kitchen– If your kitchen area doesn’t have much cabinet space for your pots and pans, ceiling hangers can be used to hang all of your pots and pans. This will not only give you more cabinet space for other kitchen items but will also make you appear like a professional cook too.
Banquettes or Sidebar Tables in Dining Room– Banquettes or sidebar tables provide the dining room with a casual setting and they are great for storage as well. They feature drawers in the base area where you can store pretty much anything that you don’t use on a regular basis such as silverware.
