It is made up of 15 towns that stretches along a peninsula in Massachusetts. Here are some great reasons to visit Cape Cod with your significant other or with the whole family!
The Beaches– Cape Cod is probably most known for its beaches. The town features beaches for all levels of swimming. Chaplin Memorial Beach, located on the Cape Cod Bay in Dennis is most popular for its clamming. Marconi Beach, located in Wellfleet, is most known for its seal sightings and is named after Guglielmo Marconi, an Italian inventor. Sandy Neck Beach stretches 7 miles from Sandwich to Barnstable Harbor.
The Local Shops– It has more than 2,400 shops, including gift shops, specialty boutiques and bookstores. Cape Cod Lanterns, located in North Chatham, has been in operation since 1836. Cape Cod Beach Chair Company, located in East Harwich, sells chairs in an array of colors, sizes and shapes. Cape Kaleidoscopes, located in Mashpee, features unique gifts for all occasions.
The Seafood Restaurants– It also has some of the best seafood restaurants in town. The Lobster Pot, located in Provincetown, features the freshest seafood and was featured in the May 2007 issue of Cape Cod Life as the Best of on the Outer Cape. The Brewster Fish House, located in Brewster, is a popular restaurant for fresh seafood and fine dining. The Cape Sea Grille, located in Harwich Port, features the freshest seafood in town, with cuisine prepared by native chef Douglas Ramier.
The Family Friendly Environment– There is so much for families to see and do in Cape Cod. The 1869 Schoolhouse Museum is located in Eastham and is a one-room schoolhouse that will fascinate children of all ages. The Cape Cod Potato Chip Factory is located in Hyannis and is the spot where the famous chips are made.
