This is so cute!! I can’t wait to try it. It’s such a pretty surprise in such a delicious looking cake.
I would love to make this adorable cake for Valentine’s Day. I just don’t quite understand how to do the hearts. I get that you cut them out…….how do you put them in the pan AND it says to fill in the sides and “in between” the hearts. So is there white cake “between” the hearts? I wish you had a video of how you do it. I am really confused.
Yes. You bake the pink loaf first, then cut out the hearts once the cake is cool. Then you mix the ingredients for the vanilla or white loaf. Once you have the loaf pan prepared, you pour a little of the white cake batter on the bottom of the loaf. Then you take the pink cut out hearts and place them in a row down the middle of the loaf pan. Once you have done that and the pink hearts extend to each end of the loaf pan, you pour the rest of the white cake batter into the pan. **Remember to pour cake batter in between each pink heart cut out to ensure that the white cake batter surrounds it. Continue in this manner until all pink hearts have white batter around them. Pour the rest of the white cake batter over the top of the hearts so that it fills the loaf pan as other batters do. Then proceed to bake, cool, and then cut into slices. Each slice or thereabouts should have a hidden pink heart in the middle of the individual slice. Hope that this will clear up any confusion that you may have. Hope you have a happy Valentine’s Day!
