Meat Lovers Pizza
(makes one 16″ pizza)
Ingredients
16” pizza crust
1 1/2 cups marinara sauce
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
3 slices thick bacon, cooked & crumbled
1/4-pound lean ground beef, cooked
2 links spicy Italian sausage, sliced & cooked
1 medium-size onion, chopped
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Fresh basil for topping
Instructions
You can use a precooked, store-bought crust or your own, homemade recipe. If using your own crust recipe from scratch, follow the directions accordingly and cook the crust completely.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Place a pan on the stove over medium-high heat, and add the olive oil.
When the oil is hot, add the onions. Cook for 5 – 7 minutes or until nicely caramelized.
Spread the marinara evenly all over the crust. If you’d like more sauce, feel free to add more.
Sprinkle the Italian seasoning over the sauce, followed by 1 1/2 cups of mozzarella cheese.
Add the ground beef, Italian sausage, bacon, and caramelized onions.
Sprinkle the top of the pizza with the Parmesan cheese and the remaining mozzarella.
Place the pizza in the oven, and bake for about 5 minutes or until the cheese is thoroughly melted.
Sprinkle with a little extra Parmesan and fresh basil before serving.
Notes:
Meat lovers pizza is extremely hearty and filling, and you’ll be surprised how easy it is to make at home!
This pizza starts with a fully cooked crust. You can buy one pre-made from the store, or use your own recipe. You can also buy pre-made pizza dough at most grocery stores these days.
Since all of the toppings are already cooked, the pizza is only in the oven long enough to melt the cheese. We like our cheese just melted, but of course, you can bake yours a little longer if you want. Just watch to make sure the edges of the crust don’t get too dark.
Bacon and Parmesan can be quite salty, so we didn’t add any salt to the pizza and didn’t think it needed it.
We absolutely loved the combination of ground beef, spicy Italian sausage, and bacon, but of course, you can use any kind of meat you like. Canadian bacon, ham, pepperoni, and/or prosciutto would also be delicious!
To make this a little more budget-friendly, you can buy the meat directly from the meat counter in the amounts you need. It’s much cheaper than buying full packages!

Oh I love this post! We usually just order pizza in but this looks a lot better than anything we could ever get out of a box. I have made pizza from scratch before (including the crust) but that was years ago and I totally forgot all about it!
My husband will LOVE this pizza – as will I! We are both pizza lovers, and often get meat lovers pizzas delivered. I never even thought to make it at home – thank you for the idea, it really doesn’t seem too hard. I got this!
I am totally drooling over this recipe. Looks so good. Will try to gather all the ingredients soon so I can plan movie night and prepare this. The best part is that making it a home we can add our favorite things and leave behind things that picky eaters.might not enjoy.
Wow! This is truly a meat lover’s dream pizza. I love that there are so many delicious toppings and I can almost imagine the combination of tastes. Bacon is salty enough so it makes perfect sense to not add salt anymore.
This looks so awesome! My husband would absolutely love this recipe! Especially with the addition of the caramelized onions. Such a great and unique touch!
I love pizza and this is my absolutely favourite flavour (though Hawaiian is a very close second). Both me and my hubby are huge meat lovers so anything with meat on it is bound to be a winner in our house. We always order this flavour but I never considered making it at home.
Okay maybe because it’s lunch time and I skipped breakfast but this pizza looks so good! I enjoy making homemade pizza occasionally but I have never tried making a meat lovers. This is going on the menu ASAP. My husband will flip for this pizza!
This looks so good! I love the variety of meats and I am always a fan of caramel oxen onions. Delish! I’d probably add mushrooms, but that’s because everything is better with fungi. Lol
That pizza looks divine! Pineapple would be killer with this. You’d have the whole sweet & salty thing going. Yummy! About the only time I use dough from scratch is when I’m grilling my pizzas. If I’m cooking in the oven, I always use store bought.
This looks really good! And easy! Thanks for sharing on the “What’s for Dinner” sunday link up! Hope to see you again this week!
