Instructions
  1. You can use a precooked, store-bought crust or your own, homemade recipe. If using your own crust recipe from scratch, follow the directions accordingly and cook the crust completely. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Place a pan on the stove over medium-high heat, and add the olive oil. When the oil is hot, add the onions. Cook for 5 – 7 minutes or until nicely caramelized. Spread the marinara evenly all over the crust. If you’d like more sauce, feel free to add more. Sprinkle the top of the pizza with the Parmesan cheese and the remaining mozzarella. Place the pizza in the oven, and bake for about 5 minutes or until the cheese is thoroughly melted. Sprinkle with a little extra Parmesan and fresh basil before serving.
Recipe Notes

Meat lovers pizza is extremely hearty and filling, and you’ll be surprised how easy it is to make at home!

This pizza starts with a fully cooked crust. You can buy one pre-made from the store, or use your own recipe. You can also buy pre-made pizza dough at most grocery stores these days.

Since all of the toppings are already cooked, the pizza is only in the oven long enough to melt the cheese. We like our cheese just melted, but of course, you can bake yours a little longer if you want. Just watch to make sure the edges of the crust don’t get too dark.

Bacon and Parmesan can be quite salty, so we didn’t add any salt to the pizza and didn’t think it needed it.

We absolutely loved the combination of ground beef, spicy Italian sausage, and bacon, but of course, you can use any kind of meat you like. Canadian bacon, ham, pepperoni, and/or prosciutto would also be delicious!

**To make this a little more budget-friendly, you can buy the meat directly from the meat counter in the amounts you need. It’s much cheaper than buying full packages!
