I Like to Eat, Eat, Eat, Apples and Bananas, But What About?

I Like to Eat, Eat, Eat, Apples and Bananas, But What About?

We are all familiar with the song “I Like to Eat, Eat, Eat, Apples and Bananas” but what about Oranges? Aren’t they an important fruit? Personally speaking, I have never liked oranges. When I was a child, I loved all types of fruit, except oranges! Didn’t matter how sour the fruit was either, just could not stomach oranges. I like to eat, eat, eat, apples and bananas, so much that I love applesauce, apple pie, apple pancakes, and apple strudel. Banana cream pie, banana pudding, banana loaf and frozen banana too, but nothing orange!

Easy Peasy Banana Cake

1/4 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
2 very ripe bananas mashed
1/2 cup butter

Cream butter and sugar, add egg, whip together. Mash bananas and add to the mixture. Toss in vanilla. Then add flour gradually and mix until smooth. Pour into greased and floured pan. Bake at 170 C for approximately 40 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean.

So it was no orange popsicles, soda, candy, or the fruit for me. And I also got one of those whopper oranges in my stocking during the holiday season. And as I grew older my aversion for things made with oranges, oranges or orange flavoring never really changed. However, I might have a tangelo, MAYBE, a that is a big MAYBE in case you did not notice… once or twice a year.

I do, however, take the occasional Vitamin C tablet just to give my body a boost. I must say that I love to eat, eat, eat, apples and bananas!

I will leave you with an amazing picture of a peeled orange!

Do you have a favorite fruit?

HAVE A GOOD DAY………. and don’t forget to eat an orange!
