Healing Mantras for Fibromyalgia
and Chronic Pain Sufferers
Some of my online friends and blog readers know that I suffer from chronic pain. This pain encompasses me and visits me daily. It rears its head in the middle of the night and awakens me from a pain induced sleep and also during the day, when I brush my hair, take a step, lift my arm, and many other times I try to do things I used to do every day.
One of the diseases that I have is called Fibromyalgia. The pain that I deal with on a daily basis is both tactile and mechanical. I can no longer bear anyone or anything touching me. A loving embrace, a playful hug, a kitty cat doing her comfort thing on my arm, stomach or legs. An unexpected light touch sends shock waves to my brain. I have had to completely alter my wardrobe. I can only wear certain materials, zippers and buttons do me in, and jeans are a thing of the past. Many of these things “normal” people take for granted. Heck, some days I am lucky if I can lift a cup of coffee to my lips.
This is my way of life now and I am learning how to make adjustments and cope. I briefly explained a few of my symptoms to try to get “normal” people to understand what a day is like for chronic pain sufferers. But that is not what is not what this post is about. It is about rising above the pain, struggling to make the best of your day. It is about overcoming life changes, accepting and acceptance.
Many chronic pain sufferers try to find something that they enjoy that will help them to rise above the pain, whether it be writing a blog post, crocheting, listening to music, cooking, gardening, crafting, and even coloring. Doing something that we enjoy helps to relieve stress and also focus our attention on something else. We are known as pain warriors.
I have many things that I do and enjoy that helps me to rise above my pain like a warrior. I try my best to not let it beat me down, that is, until sleep overtakes my body. One of my hobbies include coloring. I have quite a few mediums that I like to color with and a few books. I have had the pleasure of meeting colorists and coloring book designers along the way.
One coloring book designer has created a coloring book for Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain sufferers to enjoy and hopes that it helps them to get through their day, lifts their spirits, and helps to remind them about the power to overcome.
Her name is Anne Manera. She is a illustrationist who has designed many coloring books. The book that I received for review purposes is entitled, “Fibromyalgia Mantras- for Fibro Warriors and Chronic Pain Heroes”. This coloring book is being released on Saturday~ Yeah!!!!
The coloring book is filled with simple designs that all carry a message. The book has 20 designs with healing mantras. It also contains 10 pages of blank templates, so colorists can insert their own special healing mantras. I have a few favorites and can’t wait to color them in and put them on display somewhere in my home.
My absolute favorite mantra is….Learn to Rest Not Quit. I am not a quitter, never was. It is just that I sometimes push myself so much that I forget to rest. Never Give Up and Fibro is Real are a couple more mantras that I like and can relate to. I am sure that many other chronic pain sufferers can too.
I want you to remember to Never Give Up. And Anne Manera doesn’t want you to give up either! She has graciously offered up 5 of her coloring books, “Fibromyalgia Mantras” in a giveaway for my blog readers. Make sure to check out Anne’s Facebook page and other social media…. and check out her other coloring books too!

I try to ease the pain of fibromyalgia by prescription pain meds, rest, mental relaxiation, light stretching, meditation and try to eat a light healthy diet. Music also helps as does quiet time with my cats, coloring, and avoiding stress as possible. When able i also use light pressure massages.
I suffer from arthritis as well fibro and CRPS. They all are excruciatingly painful. I am learning to eat healthier and do my best to get out as often as I can and do what I am able to do in order to stay active. I make every effort to meet with friends weekly in order to stay connected so as not to withdraw and fall into a deeper depression that I already have. We meet up and color and chat. I am in counseling so that I always have an outlet for the frustration, sadness, and anger that inevitably comes from the chronic pain. Coloring is by far the biggest outlet for pain that I have.
So happy that you have found a hobby that helps to distract you from the pain. Getting out and meeting up with a group is also a great way to step out of your comfort zone and scenario for a little while. Good for you!
I like to do the Color Alongs with Anne Manera. I have her first color along book but I would really like her second color along book.
I do suffer from chronic pain, and I find adult coloring is a good way to distract my mind from the pain sometimes.
My favorite is the Love Grayscale Coloring Book Coloring book pdf instant download 24 pages!
