Saragine Francois, a mother of five, a teacher, writer, and author of children’s books who currently resides in the Bay Shore area of New York, sent me three of her books in pdf format to review and is offering the same 3 books up to one of my blog readers.
The first one I read is entitled “The White Gorilla and the Three Chimpanzees.”, which is a delightful tale, that is brilliantly told by Saragine Francois, and expertly illustrated by Brian Rice.
It tells of an adventure that involves a white gorilla and his three chimpanzee sidekicks. He plans an escape by utilizing an ancient magical cane that was passed down through the generations by his grandfather.
The White Gorilla decides to use the cane and its powers to explore the human’s world as they do his.
Chef, the white gorilla, decides on testing the magical powers of the cane, and he shares his plans with Brainless, Smarty, and Dancer, his three chimpanzee friends.
You and your children will enjoy their escapades, feel their amazement, and discover the truth about the magical cane. The White Gorilla and the Three Chimpanzees is a wonderful book that your children will enjoy reading again and again.
This book is available on Amazon and several other online bookstores. It is also available to download as an app, in which your children will not only enjoy reading the book, but also showing their creativity as they apply the colors of their choosing to the book pages.
Sasha and The Magic Pen is another book written by Saragine Francois, and illustrated by Javier Duarte. This story focuses on the life of two young sisters, named Sasha and Malia. The main character, Sasha, is a 10 year old girl who feels rather lonely as she doesn’t really have any friends.
While daydreaming, she wishes with all her might, that she could find someone to play with. While sitting in the family room, reading a book called Friends, she suddenly imagines that Ursa, the main character in the story is her best friend.
Later on, while wondering around in the school playground, moving some of the playground sand, she notices a pen. She picks it up and puts it in her pocket. At home, she shares her discovery with her sister. “So what, it is only a pen”, her sister exclaims.
At school the next day, the teacher tells the children to read “Friends” and write about it. One of the children asks if they could draw about it instead, and the teacher states that they could even trace the characters in the book and write something about them, even a poem.
Sasha, starts to draw the character, Ursa, but notices her pencil broke. She then uses the magic pen, to trace Ursa, and faints away when she notices that Ursa is coming alive by appearing to be lifting off of the book pages as Sasha is tracing her.
When Sasha recovers, she decides to trace Ursa’s dog, Bo. Lots of adventure and mayhem captivate the reader’s attention in this book as the both Sasha and Malia, discover that Bo and Ursa, have to be hidden from the others, and although they do not want to return to their storybook life, Sasha and Malia work hard to convince them that they should.
Cause if they do not…no one would ever be able to read “Friend” again, now would they?
Take the journey and adventure of “Sasha and The Magic Pen”, with your children. I bet you won’t regret it, and it will become one of your children’s favourite books.
The Clever Hen is the third book that I received to review from Saragine Francoise, the author. This book was illustrated by Yoko Matsuoka and tells the tale and adventures of farm animals, particularly the hens in the chicken coop. One particular hen, Mrs. Cleever, gives others the impression that she is smarter and better than the rest of them. They suddenly disembark on teaching her a lesson and begin to mock her. As the other hens are busy raising their young, they ask Mrs Cleever for assistance and she replies, “What! That is not my problem. I don’t have chicks”. As the story unfolds, Mrs. Cleever suddenly becomes a Mother Hen and does not know what to do. You will get a jolly laugh, when you read the responses from the other farm animals when she suddenly finds herself asking for help.
The Clever Hen is a wonderful, inspiring tale, that teaches others about the importance of treating others how you wish to be treated.
