Oktoberfest is a tradition that can be celebrated anywhere in the world, including Walt Disney World, a destination that can allow you to even celebrate around the world in one day. When it comes to beer and Disney, there are so many options that it might be hard to pick a single park, but there is something for everyone. The German Pavilion, Epcot
The German Pavilion is perhaps the best place to start your celebration. In all honesty there really is no reason to wait for October to begin celebrating because it’s Oktoberfest every day in the German pavilion. The Biergarten Restaurant keeps the beer and the entertainment coming, and it’s where everyone will be for the entire duration of Oktoberfest. Here there is where there is tons of Disney themed entertainment. In this very authentic atmosphere, you’ll feel like you are in Germany, where all the action is happening.
If you like drinking and strolling there are several kiosks in the pavilion area that serve a great selection of beers. During Oktoberfest there are so many people around that the crowds make for a great community atmosphere. For something truly special be sure to also stop in at Bier for the favorite Schofferhofer Grapefruit, and, of course, there are always special things going on here during the big week.
Big River Grille & Brewing Works
Most guests at Disney World do not even realize that there is a brewery on location. It’s actually a great spot to set up for Oktoberfest, whether you are staying at Disney or just want to be on property for a few hours. Located at the Boardwalk, the Grille and Brewery is right on the water with plenty of space for people to celebrate indoors or outdoors on patios overlooking the water. This spot specializes in American craft beers. They are made well and if you actually prefer the options here to German selections, then it’s all about the celebration.
During Oktoberfest time, the fall beers and food pairings are the best and favorites for the whole year. This event will attract a lot of locals, so be sure to make reservations or be prepared to wait.
Raglan Road
Raglan Road is the center of Disney World during St. Patrick’s Day. If you can’t be in Epcot for Oktoberfest, you might as well be somewhere where there is always a party and beer flowing. The Irish are always up for celebrating and recognize the festivities of their neighbors too.
If you decide to celebrate Oktoberfest here, you have the advantage of doing so without having to pay for an expensive ticket. You also the ability to enjoy live entertainment, and the beer is less expensive than other areas of the park. The crowd here is fun too, because so many people head to Raglan Road for great Disney entertainment. The Downtown Disney area makes it easy to move around from one place to another.
