With Valentine’s Day on its way, it is time to start planning the special treats that will be shared with others. There are the usual but even if you fix the usual, they can be specially decorated and make the day fun. Here are some Baking Ideas for Valentine’s Day that will get you busy in the kitchen.
Of course you can also make cookies and/or cupcakes then decorate in Valentine’s colors. Dipped strawberries are very romantic for just you and him. Chocolate anything is always good too.
I like to make or buy Rice Krispies Treats and decorate. When the squares are formed (or bought) cut them into a little smaller square – about 3” square – dip into chocolate, put in a party stick and place in freezer to chill.
Then cover them with chocolate (your choice) and dip into sprinkles of your choice for the festivities. Easy and fun to eat.
A round cake can be cut and made into a heart then decorated. That’s very easy. You might engage the kids into making something special for mom or dad and have a surprise dessert after a nice dinner.
A recently “invented” dessert item is cake pops. They look complicated but you mix the cake up like normal, mix in the frosting then roll by hand into little balls (about the size of a golf ball). Decorate to your hearts content.
You can dip into white chocolate and roll into pink sprinkles for Valentine’s Day. Change the coating for any celebration. Easy and fun to eat.
If you don’t have much time, you can always make cookies. Use your favorite recipe and decorate with white chocolate chips, M&Ms or whatever your and your mate would like.
The main reason for Valentine’s Day is to express love to your mate. If food is the way you want to show your love, make what everyone will enjoy and have a wonderful day.
