Whether we want to hear it or not, teenage sex is much more common these days than say 20 or 30 years ago. The fact is that there are several reasons why teenagers are having sex these days and some of the reasons may surprise you.
Peer Pressure– Teenagers engage in sex because they think everyone else is doing it except for them. Some teens will also pressure their friends to have sex so they can feel like they are not the only ones doing it. Many times teens are pressured by their partner to have sex so they find that they can’t say no. They find that they have a hard time saying no to someone they care about.
Seductive Media Messages– These days, it seems that all forms of popular media like the internet along with television and music have been influenced by the sexual revolution of the 1960’s. Because of this, the majority of teenagers are exposed to provocative information that not only fires up sexual desires but also expresses immoral viewpoints.
Inner Drives– Every single teenager has some sort of sexual feelings and interests. The reason for this is that because teens deeply need affirmation and love. Because of this, teenagers are drawn towards physical intimacy.
Lack of Parental Supervision– These days it seems that parents are so busy with their lives that they hardly have the time to spend with their children. Because teenagers spend long stretches of time alone, nature is likely to take its course.
Overprotective Parenting– Some parents are overprotective and overbearing and they don’t realize that this sometimes does more harm than good. When teenagers are raised in an environment that is micromanaging and controlling, they are very likely to rebel against their parents. Teens will be rebellious in order to break free from an overload of trivial constraints.
