Won’t You Be My Neighbor Day
March 20th is Won’t You Be My Neighbor Day. When I think of this day, my mind goes back to Mr. Fred Penner, who sang this song during every ” Mr. Rogers Neighborhood” show that was televised when I was growing up and when my kids were small.
He reminds of the importance of being a good neighbor. In other words treat people how you expect them to treat you with dignity, compassion and care. We all live on the planet together and it sure would be nice if we all got along.
Besides, nothing is worse than living beside someone who is loud, rude, and obnoxious. And disagreeing over things that are trifling can really make matters worse. A nice gesture would be to introduce you to any new people who have moved into the neighborhood. Making them feel welcome will surely go a long way!
