The spirit of giving becomes more and more prevalent when the holiday season arrives upon us. Yet, the spirit of giving is something that should be practiced and shown to your fellow man, all year round, no matter where they are from or the color of their skin. We are created equal in the creator’s eye, and from dust we come and will return, no matter the color of one’s skin.
Life is a road that all of us must travel, it is a blessing as well as a curse. We are all born equal and now matter what life hands you each day, we often struggle through the trials and tribulations of life. The road that we travel is full of ups and downs, live, laugh, love and die. Whichever path that life takes us, we are all part of mankind. No one really knows the personal experience of a fellow man, except for that man himself and the creator.
Some of us will rise up to be rich and famous, others rich, some just making it day by day, and some living at the poverty level or even below it. This is outrageous, to say in the least. It is commonly known that the higher ups in society care more about what benefit life has to offer them and how they are glamorously portrayed in the media and to the world at large.
This message is really not directed at anyone, but is something that those that are in the higher up income bracket, can ponder. In particular, those that have made it big in the entertainment industry as well as the political field, should sit back and think about how they would feel if they exchanged places with someone who is struggling day to day to get by and is living a life in extreme poverty.
The media is a powerful platform and we all view occurrences whereas those in the entertainment and political world sometimes stage a benefit to help what they feel is a worthy cause. Of course, this puts them in the spotlight time and time again, but as I sit here and ask myself, have they ever done something for a fellow human being away from the lights of the camera and the media blitz and no that most likely the answer to that question is no.
It is time that they should wake up and realize that we all are born, live, breathe and die on our planet Earth and no man should be above the other because of the amount of money they have or do not have, nor their station in life. Something needs to be done to eliminate world wide poverty. There should be no need for food stamps or medical aid, or any other type of government assistance for that matter, but sadly, there is. Why, because of life’s situations, and all to often, those that are better off forget about their fellow man as they strive to get richer and more powerful.
Well, that was my rant and I bet you are wondering why I wrote it. Just voicing my opinion that is all and I am really hoping to reach people that are willing to give. I really doubt that those in the entertainment industry or political field are even going to read this blog post!
Remembering the spirit of giving should be year round and not just around the holiday season. Perhaps those that are into extreme couponing and have managed to rack and stack a bunch of personal as well as non-perishable food items together in their house, can help me out and become a Secret Santa to special person I know!
A family that I know in the US, can really and truly benefit from your kindness. Post your contact info under this post and I will try to connect with you!
Wishing you and yours a healthy and happy holiday season.
You are right, no act of kindness is ever wasted. While I prefer to be “Secret Santa” to someone I personally know, I am doing something similar this year for a co-worker. Although she and I aren’t close friends, she has told me that Christmas was always a tough holiday for her when she was a kid. I just want her to have that magical moment, even if it’s as an adult!
