Rare Disease Day

Feb. 28th is Rare Disease Day. It is a day that focuses on bringing awareness to various rare diseases through sharing on social media and also by sponsored events. Being afflicted is bad enough. Having a rare disease is even worse. No one understands the symptoms or causes. Many doctors are not aware of it and more often than not, a cure is not in the immediate future. So the person who suffers from it, suffers in silence. No one, including their family fully understand the pain and suffering their family member is going through.

Rare Disease Day

There is no need to suffer in silence. Sharing life stories about your disease, images, and how you cope with it may help someone else that is in your shoes. If you are suffering from a rare disease, contact EURORDIS, they may be able to offer you the support that you need.

Thanks for sharing this great post about Rare Disease Day. I have a rare disorder (Ehlers Danlos Syndrome) and write about it on my blog. It’s great to have a day where we can all promote awareness 🙂
