FollowPlum Pudding Day is Feb 12. I don’t know why they call it Plum Pudding, it does not have any of this type of fruit in it. Treacle or molasses is used in making this cake. Dried fruits and other stuff go into making this cake. It is basically Christmas Cake.
Nowadays, electric mixers usually mix the ingredients. Due to the high amount of dried fruits in it, it can become quite tedious if you were stirring it by hand.
In times of long ago, everyone in the household used to take turns at mixing the batter. As an incentive they were told to make a wish as they were mixing.
Not sure if their wishes came true, but the Plum Pudding got put into the ovens and baked.
