FollowPet Day
April 11th is Pet Day. It is a day to show your pets how much you love them. Get them a new toy, a special treat, or even squeeze them a little tighter.
It is amazing how much joy a pet can bring to your life. They do not ask for much other than food, shelter, and some affection. They can be your shoulder to cry on, a sounding board, a companion, a pick me upper, and a friend. We have two four legged fur babes in our home. One is an angora gp who loves to make a mess of his digs. He often overturns his wooden house that sits in the cage. It is so funny watching him rearrange it just how he wants it. When it is overturned, he peeks his head outside the window. At times he loves to gnaw at the wood. I really love cutting empty toilet paper rolls into halves lengthwise. When you put one half into the cage, he is so happy. It is a toy to him. He parades around in his cage with it, showing us his new toy. He also chews on it when he gets the urge!
Our other fur baby is a cat. She is now nine years old. I still like to think of her as a kitty because she sure acts like one. At this moment she is curled up in her sheepskin bed. Soon she will be stretching her long and lanky legs over the edge. Guess she got a little tired after visiting all of the family members and snuggling with me on the couch. And talk about snoring, she snores louder than my hubby!
