Just think, the holiday season will be upon us before we know it and I am sure that many of my blog readers have a special treat that they like to prepare for the holidays, other than the traditional big dinner. A couple of my favorites that I like to prepare as treats and sweets are No Bake Peanut Butter Balls as well as French Crepes for holiday treats.
The No Bake Peanut Butter Balls are fairly easy to make, in fact, I generally make around 48 of them which do not last more than 2 or 3 days. I will share this recipe with you all, and hope that it becomes part of your traditional holiday treat. There are many different variations of these treats and these are my holiday ones. So enjoy and share them around!
Christmas Peanut Butter Balls
2 cups smooth peanut butter
2 cups icing sugar
1/4 cup butter
1/4 tsp vanilla
A few dates, about 1 cup (optional)
Glace Maraschino Cherries, both red and green
Small amount of sweetened or unsweetened coconut flakes
Method
Cream butters together in medium bowl. Add icing sugar and mix well until smooth. Add in the vanilla. Chop up some dates into very small pieces, as well as both of the colored cherries. Remember not to overdo it though, as the idea is to taste the peanut butter treats with the little extra touch. Take a spoonful out and roll it around in your hand, until it forms a little ball. Then roll it in the coconut flakes and refrigerate until ready to enjoy.
This will make approximately 24 No Bake Peanut Butter Balls, depending on the size of your spoons, of course!
