More Than Just a Pressure Cooker- Review and Giveaway

Most of us remember the days gone by when our Mom’s struggling with that ancient pressure cooker over the stove, and also yelling at us to stay away from it. The one we had was made of aluminum and I am not sure if it was a 6 quart pressure cooker or not! It had a silly top on it that wobbled back and forth. Man, it was scary when the gas was turned off and the top was loosened. WHOOSH! WHOOSH! With a sizzle, a hot rush of steam rose to the top of the kitchen ceiling. Heaven forbid if you were the one that had to loosen the top. But the food prepare in it was delicious.

When I learned how to cook and then had my own family, I know that sometimes you have to cut corners when you are on a tight budget. And cutting costs sometimes meant getting a cheaper cut of meat. And then spending hours either marinating it or boiling it to make it edible. Then I was presented with a pressure cooker. WOW, it was a big, aluminum pot that went on the stove, reminds me of the one from my childhood. Only newer. I think I managed to cook a meal in it once. It was too big, too heavy, too cumbersome, and frightening to boot! And not to mention that the food that I cooked in it actually burnt a bit on the bottom. Well, I did a little research and found that it is often recommended to put a plate in the bottom of these types of pressure cookers. And so it sat, forlorn and tucked away on the shelf in the kitchen. And that was my last attempt at cooking with a pressure cooker, until…………….

I was lucky enough to have a chance to review the 6 quart Digital Pressure Cooker from Aroma Housewares. All I can say is WOW, what a difference! This pressure cooker is nothing like those of long ago. This one is electrical and does not have that wobbly thing on top of it. One thing that I definitely like about this model is that it has a self-locking lid that has an automatic pressure release. This means no chance of getting a horrific steam burn as you struggle to unlock the pressurized top!

As mentioned this 6 quart digital pressure cooker is more than just a pressure cooker. It slow cooks, steams, browns, simmers and warms. And it also has a handy steam rack too! As for the pressurized settings, you can choose from low, medium or high, depending on the type of meal you are making with it. It also has a programmable timer, so making a meal in the 6 quart digital pressure cooker from Aroma Housewares is a breeze. There is no need to watch a clock, stand by the stove spending hours cooking, or even stick to making just one type of meal in it. With the included steam rack, you can throw in corn on the cob, steam fish, defrost shrimp, and have fresh steamed vegetables in very little time.

All you have to do is add your ingredients to the 6 quart digital pressure cooker and set the timer. You can set it while you sleep and wake up not having to worry about what is for dinner, it is already made! Or you can simply plan your meal the night before and put it in the pressure cooker in the morning, set the timer, and presto, all the cooking is done for you.

I actually made a couple of meals with it already. One was homemade chili from scratch and the other was a yummy roast with all the trimmings! What makes it so great is that the family can take their dinner out of the pressure cooker any time of the day or night. When everyone has finished eating for the day, simply store the remainder in a covered dish and if there is a lot left you can also just remove the inner pot from the pressure cooker and store it in the fridge. The inner pot can be easily removed for clean-up and is dishwasher safe!

The 6 quart digital pressure cooker from Aroma Housewares make meal making a breeze! You can purchase this item for only $109.99 directly from their website. I am so happy I got a new pressure cooker that does not scare me and my family loves the meals that I cook in it too!
