Well, I was really debating whether or not to even write this post but seeing the lack of response from the Maxi-Matic customer service department, I thought I should. You see, I received a gift for this past Christmas in which there was a part missing. Seeing that it was a gift and the holidays it was not opened until a couple of days later. Well, when it came to the assembly it was rather simple. However, it clearly was missing a part, (the steamer rack).
The product that I am talking about is the Maxi-matic Elite Professional Countertop Toaster Oven, it really it a nice machine for the most part and was even going to write up a review post about the machine, some dishes, and some pics. And tell you about the how well the machine works and what it does and doesn’t do. That is until I noticed I was missing an important part. And so, I looked at the brochure that came along with the toaster oven and emailed the company explaining that it was a gift, and there was no steamer rack for the top griddle.. which I might add was a nice feature to this small kitchen appliance.
I ended up getting a reply several days later in which the customer service mentioned that they did need the model number as I did not have a receipt. I responded with another email that I did have the box it came in, and wrote the numbers down as well as I could make out. Well, another email transpired in which she told me to take a picture of the serial numbers, yeah right. I was going to unplug it and take it off the counter and take the top piece off, and flip it over, to take a picture of a little label that I could barely find..
Well, I told hubs about it and he ended up using a magnifying glass to read the serial, model, make, and year of this small kitchen appliance. I wrote the lady back with the correct information and still no response. And that is why I am just a little ticked.. I think that in all fairness, if the model was no longer made and is something that they introduced to consumers years ago, then I could perhaps see a problem in trying to replace something that was never there in the first place.
Maxi-Matic, I think that perhaps you should teach your customer service reps how to deal with a customer’s inquiry in the right manner. The product that I received as a gift was boxed up missing a part that was supposed to be with the machine. It is not an old outdated product either and it was an packaging error by one of your employees.
I was really quite surprised at the lack of a response from them. I have no problems with companies and their customer service team when I am inquiring about products to review or working with them. We all know that good customer service is an important part of any business.
So, people’s… if you EVER, EVER think about purchasing the Elite Professional Countertop Oven, open the box before you leave the store and make sure that it has at least two racks inside. One for the inside and one for the top griddle, it is the steamer rack. I received mine as a gift and was not so lucky… I am soooooooooooo ticked for not having the part and for having to deal with customer service reps that are incompetent.
It really makes me question a company when thry refuse to even communicate. I’d rather pay more money elsewhere than deal with horrible customer service. I’d be livid.
