Hoover Dam
The Hoover Dam sits on the border between Arizona and Nevada. It harnesses the power of the Colorado River to generate hydroelectric power. The dam was built during the Great Depression. It attracts a lot of tourists that are awed by the site of the incredible dam and the sense of power that it generates. Security concerns now prevent the general public from crossing the dam in their cars. However, you can still visit the dam via the visitor center that you approach from a service road.
