Indoor plants come in many varieties. Indoor plants are easy to maintain and help to liven up your indoors. All plants whether they are indoor or not, need sunlight and will soon begin to tilt towards the source of sunlight. In the case of indoor plants, rotating the plant pot will help to stop it from growing at an awkward angle.
When choosing indoor plants, there are many types for you to choose from. Here are some varieties that are easy to grow and adapt well to the indoor environment.
Popular Indoor Plants
Easiest indoor plants include African Violets, Begonias, and Ivy. African Violets blossom for approximately three weeks. These plants need plenty of sunshine. Therefore it is important that you keep them on a windowsill. Move them out of the direct sunlight as the sun can cause them to wilt.
As for the Begonias, there are three different types. There is the Semperflorens, the Perennials, and the Tuberous. Out of these three varieties, the Semperflorens are the most popular. All varieties come in wax finishes and are ever blooming. Begonias are very colorful and come with a yellow center. Common colors of begonias are white, pink, yellow, and red.
The Ivy is another plant that thrives indoors. This plant is a climbing plant and can survive for a while in a shady area. However, it will eventually need sunlight.
No matter what type of indoor plant you choose make sure that it has enough water to permit it to grow. If the plant does not have sufficient water, it will have stunted growth.
Cactus, Armarylis, Paper Whites, Poinsettia, Coleus, Geraniums, and a variety of rubber plants make good choices of indoor plants.
