One of my favorite seasons is fall. When fall hits it’s time to relax and enjoy the weather. You are no longer dealing with all the heat and can truly enjoy being outside. The best part is there are so many fun fall activities you can do with your kids. Below is a list of some of my favorites!
- Tailgate at a local football game. This is a big hit in my house. Everyone is huge football fans!
- Collect colorful leaves and do a craft project. This happens to be daughter’s favorite. She loves trying to find different things to do with her leaves. You can also make leaf rubbings.
- Do a little baking! You can make caramel apples or popcorn. Lately my favorite has been pumpkin seeds and pumpkin bread! My kids love helping me in the kitchen and I really enjoy teaching them. It’s special one on one time.
- Visit a local pumpkin patch. This has been our second year to do this and my kids love it. I love it too. Some cost money to get in to, but they usually have tons of stuff to do for free inside. A couple weekends we went and spent 4 hours there doing all kinds of fall activities. Plus it can be a learning experience to learn where pumpkins come from and a bit about farming. That brings me to number 5…
- Carve your own pumpkins. My kids really enjoy it. They like to pick what their pumpkins are going to be. This year we had Cinderella, Sponge Bob, and Mickey Mouse. What are yours?
- Go Apple Picking and Make Some Goodies. This is a great learning experience for kids. My kids enjoy making apple butter and apple sauce. It’s fun to see their excitement when they are eating something they made.
- BONFIRES!! I all caps that because I would have to say this is my kids favorite thing to do. They love collecting leaves and sticks to build a fire with their daddy.
- Visit A Corn Maze. This is a great family activity. Solving a puzzle together as a family.
- Make a Scavenger Hunt. This is perfect for teaching your children to work together instead of fighting. (I just did this last weekend!)
- Plant some bulbs and great ready for the spring. Now I don’t have a green thumb so I haven’t done this myself, but my kids really enjoy working with their grandma in the garden.
This isn’t even all of the fun activities that you can do with your children in the fall. This is just some of the stuff I do with my kids. The list is endless. The best part is a lot of the activities are cheap or free and educational! What are some of the things that you do with your kids in the fall?
