Tonight’s dinner was homemade Paprikash Beef and Jasmine Rice and although there are many different ways that people make Paprikash, the flavor of the dish comes from the Paprika. Here is a picture of what it looked like.
I love the smell of Jasmine Rice when it is cooking, it has its own unique fragrance that is unlike other types of rice. It is a long grain rice that has a nutty smell when it is cooking. It is full of flavor.
The Paprikash Beef was delicious and for those of you who wish to make this as a meal can follow the recipe below.
6 cups water
3 cups rice
1. Place water in pot and let boil.
2. Measure rice and rinse.
3. Add to boiling water and cover.
4. Turn heat to low and cook for 15 minutes. Do not take the cover off.
5. Fluff with fork and remove from heat.
Place the Jasmine Rice on a plate or in a bowl and top with a pot spoon or two of the Paprikash Beef.
1 can tomato paste
2 Bay Leaves
Mini Carrots (add as much as you like)
Minced Onion (fresh or dehydrated)
2 Garlic Cloves
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
1/3 or less cup oil
Hungarian Paprika
Stew Beef
6 or more potatoes, peeled and quartered
Water
Marinade for stew beef
Method
1. Cut stew beef into fine cubes. Place in bowl and add marinade or meat tenderizer. Let sit for a few hours.
2. Peel and quarter potatoes
3. Place meat in pot that has a cover.
4. Add onion, garlic, oil, bay leaves, beef, seasonings, and add enough water to cover the meat. Let simmer for a couple of hours to soften the meat.
5. Add a can of tomato paste.
6. Add peeled potatoes.
7. Add enough paprika to color the liquid. Use your own discretion. I usually use about 1/2 of a pot spoon.
8. Add cut up carrots.
9. Simmer until vegetables are tender.
Enjoy!!!!!!!!

I love jasmine rice! I feel like it’s sweeter and “puffier” than regular rice.
