I am a huge fan of The Walking Dead. In fact, the whole family is. Sunday nights are usually spent watching it. Each of my family members watch it and then share their opinion about the show with each other. Tonight’s episode was entitled “Consumed” and here is some food for thought about tonight’s show and my input on The Walking Dead-Consumed.
Tonight’s show featured my ABSOLUTE favorite characters. I love the roles of #NormanReedus and #MelissaMcBride also known as Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier! And yes, I definitely do want these two characters to hook up.
Reading some of the recently published material in which it has been noted that there has not been a primary member death in a while. Hope that is not an omen of what is yet to come. I will truly be beside myself if the writers decide to knock off one of these two. I am still upset at the death of Herschel and that happened a while ago!
Well back to tonight’s episode of The Walking Dead- Consumed. Noah might have been walker food if Carol did not make a move to save him. For only when she made a move to save him, the bowman stepped forward and took out the walker. Was this done as a gesture to save another human being or was it a gesture to put Carol out of harm’s way? Probably not.
In my opinion, it was more or less done as a way for Carol to soften up some of that hard exterior that she has managed to build from being on the road by herself for some time. In the same segment, Daryl tells her to remember that we are not ashes and therefore, entices her to take action.
The zombie apocalypse has made all survivors develop certain skills in order to survive. In this segment Daryl wants Carol to remember that she is alive and that is is okay to have feelings… and that it is okay to care… and love. I really hope so.
Did Carol see or hear the car coming and decide that getting hit with the car was the best way to get inside the hospital to access Beth’s situation? The look of dismay on Daryls face once he notices that Carol has been hit by a car is emotional and deep. He looks distraught. I really hope that they finally get a chance to discuss their past and express their feelings towards each other. It would be the BOMB!
He now must realize just how strong Carol has become, putting her life in jeopardy to save a member of the group. At all costs, remember.
Hurry up Daryl and take Carol in your arms, cause you never know if there will be another chance.
In a preview of the upcoming episode Daryl is seen carrying a body to burn. My son seems to think it is Carol as he said that the scene was dark and at night on a roof. I told him that Carol came out afterwards and thanked Daryl for killing the zombie mother and child. I hope that in this case, he is wrong.
I often think of what Chris Hardwick voiced on one of The Talking Dead episodes, “Why can’t The Walking Dead show 52 weeks a year?
Remembering Character Deaths in The Walking Dead-
Season One- No main character deaths in the first season as writers were more interested in developing the show. Of course, we seen a lot of walker deaths during this season as well as secondary characters, Ed Pelletier, Amy and Jim.
Season Two- During this season we learned of the death of Dale, Shane, Sophia. Secondary characters such as Otis and many walkers died during this season.
Season Three- This season brought about the death of Lori Grimes, the wife of Sheriff Rick Grimes, one of the main characters of the show. T-Dog also met his fate during this season and is remembered for saving the life of Carol Pelletier. Another death scence included Meryl Dixon, who was the brother of Daryl Dixon, a red-neck ruffian who never felt he fit in anywhere, who is now a valued member of Rick’s group. Andrea and Milton also met their demise. Walkers and some secondary characters were also disposed of during this season.
Season Four- In Season Four, we saw the death of Herschel Greene, elderly homesteader and the father of Maggie and Beth Greene. We also seen the death of the one character that everyone had a reason to hate, the Governor. Lizzie, Mika, Alisha, Lily, Mitch and other secondary characters met their end.
Season Five- So far in Season Five of The Walking Dead we have seen the deaths of Bob, who was bitten by a walker, as well as the death of Gareth, the leader of The Terminites, a group of cannibals who call Terminus their home. Bob will fondly be remembered for this line “Tainted Meat”It still brings a smile to my face when I remember the way he screamed it to Gareth and his gang.ter
Thought that I would share a partial sketch of the characters of The Walking Dead that one of my kids drew. There are other show characters are in the top portion of the canvas. I hope that she will eventually finish it.
