Everything But the Kitchen Sink Chili- Recipe

Share

Made a delicious chili the other day and thought that I would share it with you. Mind you, I fooled you with the catchy title did I not! For those of you who do not know how to make chili, the combination of beans, spices, vegetables, meat, tomatoes, or even meatless chili is endless. I made this dinner in the pressure cooker/slow cooker on Sat and there is just a little more than a bowl of it left. Top this off with a green salad and some crusty rolls and it is quite a dish. It is also a great ways to ensure that there is enough fiber in your diet, something warm in your stomach and a great budget meal giving the amount that it makes and feeds!

Here is my recipe for Everything But the Kitchen Sink Chili;

1 2 pound hamburger meat (mince)
2 cans diced stewed tomatoes
2 small cans tomato paste
1 onion, chopped fine
4 bay leaves
2 large cans kidney beans
1 large can of pinto beans
2 small cans of pork and beans with molasses
1/2 green pepper chopped
1/2 package of sliced white mushrooms
1 cut up fresh tomato
Couple of dashes of chili powder
Few sprinkles of concentrated garlic powder or use a couple of cloves of fresh garlic, chopped
Couple dashes of Worchestershire Sauce
Salt and pepper to taste

I have been making my chili like this for donkey years. Sometimes, I will vary the ingredients by adding different vegetables or meat, but when I do the kids will sometimes say… What did you do to the chili, or what type of meat did you use this time… and so with this one being their favorite I tend to make this one more often. It is a great way to use up those fresh vegetables that are sitting in your fridge.

Chili is a great meal to have any time of the year and more so when the weather starts to get a little cooler. So next time you are thinking about something to make for dinner, why not throw together a chili and perhaps use my recipe when you are making it!
