***************************************************************************************************************************** 5 Ways Water Can Impact Your Inner Senses
*****************************************************************************************************************************
Water is what keeps us alive, cools us down, and helps us to do our daily chores. There are also many other ways water can impact us, especially our inner senses. Stay tuned to find out how it can have such an impact on our lives and bodies.
Looking at It
Looking at water has a natural way of calming a person down and making them feel at peace. The waves, the blueness of the never-ending sea, and the boats sailing in the distance can really do the eyes a favor. When the body sees something it likes, it has a tendency to enter a state of happiness and euphoria. It’s as if you are this tiny person, in this big world, once you realize just how important it is for our existence.
Feeling It
Whether you’re feeling fresh or salt water, the feeling of it on your skin is indescribable. To know you’re touching something in which wildlife swims and lives is an incredible feeling. You are becoming one with nature when you touch it and let it wash over you. If you think having a hot shower feels incredible in the morning, just imagine yourself diving into a crisp, cool body of water. Experience what feelings it brings about to your inner sense of feeling.
Hearing It
Have you ever heard waves crashing or a waterfall in the distance? Hearing is an incredible sense that most of us are blessed to have. Of course, we often take this sense for granted. Hearing the sound of the waves can do wonders for us. While we are blessed to hear this specific noise, sometimes we need to seek out the noise because other sounds can drown it out. The next time you’re on the beach or taking a hike in the woods, listen for the sound of water. Listen to what it can do for your soul.
Tasting It
I’m not recommending you run out and drink of glass out of the lake next door, but tasting it can have a profound impact on our senses. A small taste of it from the ocean brings or even a taste from the spring brings to the mouth is indescribable. Tasting different kinds of springs and swallowing a few drops from it helps bring your body to a sense of appreciation. You become thankful for the cleanliness of it and that you can actually drink it. By doing so, you quickly become more appreciative of it.
Smelling It
Bodies of water bring a distinct and beautiful smell with them. The smell of something can usually bring forth a great feeling. Breathing in the smell of a fresh body of water or smelling the salt of the ocean is something you can never take for granted. Smelling is a beautiful gift that allows you to really get in touch with your inner senses.
Here are some beautiful photos of a beach on Mackinac Island in Michigan. I know that when I look at them, I feel relaxed and comforted. I can just envision myself digging my toes in the sand and then running like a playful child to dip my toes in the clean, pristine ocean.
When was the last time you were in touch with your inner senses? It is amazing how something so simple as water can bring us in touch with all five of our senses. We’re created to get in touch with our own bodies. The next time you need to get to know who you are and know where you’re headed, dive into some water and get in touch with all of your senses.
