FollowIf you are a gamer and also like to play chess, then you just have to get the Super Mario Chess Collectors Edition by USAopoly. I received one the other day for review purposes and absolutely adore it. In fact, to be perfectly honest I do not know who likes it more, me or the kids!
The Super Mario Chess Collectors Edition consists of a game board, rules, and 32 hand painted game pieces that are stored away in a decorative tin.
The playing board has also undergone some changes compared to classic chess boards, it is more brightly colored and surely grabs your attention. This chess board has blue and white squares that the two teams stand on. Now let’s get on to the game pieces. Mind blowing is all I can say!
Rather than being the classic black and white chess pieces, the Super Mario Chess Set Collectors Edition features red and green players. And in case you are wondering…….on the red team we have Super Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Yoshi, Princess Daisy, Coin and Toad. And on the opposing team, we have of course, those who are known as the bad guys in Super Mario. The bad guys are on the green team and include; Koopa Shell, Goomba, Magikoopa, Bowser, Birdo, and Bowser Jr.
This Super Mario Chess Collectors Edition is the 1st chess set that has been authorized by Nintendo. It is a set that can be used to play chess, however, you might want to get two of them, especially if you are a die-hard gamer! Remember that the playing pieces are hand-painted and I have to be perfectly honest with you, the pieces look just like the Super Mario characters that we have all come to know and love.
