FollowSubmarine Day
March 17th is Submarine Day. We all remember that song about the yellow submarine. Well these kids in the photo look like they are having a blast in this one. Of course, all fun aside, these underwater boats played an important part in our nation’s history especially during the war years. Believe it or not, the first one was built in 1620.
Of course, many improvements have been made in the design over the years. During the war, men stationed on these underwater vessels did not see the horizon of the sun for many months. They were also known as torpedo boats and were used to destroy enemy boats in and under the water.
