FollowPie Day is Jan 23rd. Mmmmmmm.. The smell of homemade baking is absolutely divine. One of my favorite pies is Cherry. Apple is very close behind. I used to make them all of the time, but now do only them on special occasions. Not that I have forgotten how, it is just not cost-effective to make them from scratch.
Purchasing a baked pie from the supermarket saves you time and money. All you have to do is slice, warm in microwave and serve. Easy peasy!
You could also buy a unbaked one and toss it in the oven for an hour if you want a homebaked pie. The cost of purchasing all the stuff that you need to make it from scratch has become quite expensive. Especially if you have to purchase all of the ingredients to make it and the fruit is not in season.
I have some unbaked pie shells in the freezer. I think I will make some mni cherry pies for Pie Day? Are you going to make one today?
