Maple Syrup Day

Share

Dec 17th is Maple Syrup Day. For those of you who like waffles or pancakes you can commemorate Maple Syrup Day while you eat breakfast. I, myself, like maple syrup on two things, french toast and french crepes. Speaking of French crepes, we will be having them on Christmas morning. Already have the fruits, the whipped cream and of course, the maple syrup. Conditions for collecting the maple syrup has to be perfect. Sap is usually collected from the maple trees in Feb or March.

Maple Syrup Day

Syrup is gathered from trees in Canada, the north central US and the north eastern area of the US. Once the sap has been gathered it is taken to the Sugar H0use. Here it is boiled down under high temperatures, then bottled and/or packaged for sale.

What are you having for Maple Syrup Day? Hope you have a tsp. of maple syrup to celebrate the day!
