FollowIris Day
Iris Day is May 8th. I remember the huge growth of irises that we used to have in one of our backyard gardens. The flowers that were once there were removed to make room for some small animal pens.
They are a spring flower that grow on long stalks. They were in a garden of my childhood as well. I loved how they looked with their dark purple hue, and vibrant tall green stalks. Their bright yellow tongues really made them stand out.
Oh how I loved when spring rolled around. The house would definitely have a few bouquets made up of peonies, lilacs, irises and tulips.
