There are so many things that makes America so special. One of America’s biggest holiday is July 4th. Towns and cities across the United States have an array of celebrations to celebrate our independence. Here are some interesting places to visit on the 4th of July.

Navy Pier- Navy Pier is located in Chicago, Illinois. Each year, the historic pier attracts around 4 million people during this holiday. The pier will remind you of a local festival or carnival, complete with musical carousel and fried dough. At night, there is a spectacular fireworks display over Lake Michigan that is synchronized to music. The best view area for the fireworks is on the 150-foot Ferris wheel. During the day, you can enjoy street entertainers as well as live music.

Myrtle Beach- Myrtle Beach is located in the heart of South Carolina. Each year, thousands of folks gather along the shores to take in the cool fireworks display. During the day, you can enjoy local fare from spots like the Little Pigs BBQ vendor. Murrells Inlet also hosts a boat parade on this holiday, that is always fun to watch.

New Orleans- An interesting place to spend the 4th of July in New Orleans is on the Riverfront. They put on a large holiday celebration that lasts all day and stretches from the French Market to the Riverwalk Marketplace. There are free concerts outdoors on various stages for you listening pleasure. At the Riverwalk, you can also watch several acts perform throughout the day including the Navy Band New Orleans Brass Quintet, the Victory Belles and the Strolling Riverwalk Jazz Band. At night, they have a spectacular Dueling Barges Fireworks Extravaganza that takes place over the river.

Niagara Falls- Niagara Falls is beautiful any time of the year, but especially so on the 4th of July. During this time, the Falls are brightly showcased with rotating colors that can be viewed from places like Prospect Point, Observation Tower and Luna Island. The fireworks display is a stunning sight that can be seen from anywhere inside the Niagara Falls State Park. The best spot for viewing the fireworks at Niagara Falls is the huge Ferris wheel that looks down 175 feet onto the Falls. The Ferris wheel is located on the Canada side inside of Clifton Hills.
