How to Organize Your Pinterest Boards for the Most Traffic

Share

One of the most recent social media networks, just happens to be Pinterest. For those of you who may not be familiar with Pinterest, it is a social media platform in which you make an account and pin your blog post to boards that you make up. In turn, people visit these boards and view your pins, which ultimately take them to your website to find out more about your particular pin.

Not only blog owners utilize Pinterest for informing others of their products, but major corporations do some pinning as well. However, some pinners do not know how to work their boards to their advantage. Recipes, crafts, DIY, and seasonal posts do rather well on Pinterest, along with other boards, but the ones mentioned seem to do the best.

Studies have shown that content or pins that are placed at eye level tend to do the best on Pinterest. Therefore it is important that you pin the board that you think or want to promote or gain the most views of at a particular time. An example of the first rows of your Pinterest boards could be Slow Cooker Meals, No Bake Desserts, Potato Dishes, Pasta Dishes, Chicken Wings, Salads. The second row could be Halloween Treats, Christmas Decor, Halloween Decor, Christmas Desserts, DIY Halloween Costumes, and so forth. It is important that you change around your placement of your Pinterest boards, according to the season. A business may pin their latest arrival on the top two rows of Pinterest to inform viewers of upcoming or newly released products.

Another important thing that “pinners” should take note of, is to change the profile picture of their Pinterest topic board to gain views for other posts within that same topic. An example would be to have a profile picture of a coconut Easter bunny cake for Easter for one week, and then change it around to a profile picture of dyed Easter eggs. This topic would do well in the first two lines of Pinterest boards during the month of February and up until the holiday.

Knowing how to organize your Pinterest boards properly will help you to gain more page views on your website. Adding new pins at regular intervals will also keep others interested in what you have to promote or are interested in sharing with others. Try these tips out and see just how much more traffic you have gained, and remember to invite others to view/join your Pinterest boards.
