Dr Seuss Day

March 2nd is Dr. Seuss Day. It in 1904 that this cartoonist, writer, and poet was born. He was better known as Dr. Seuss, however, his birth name was Theodor Seuss Giesel.

He was a perfectionist who often through out his work if he felt it was lacking. As a result, he often took well over a year to produce a single book. Not only did he pen 46 books for toddlers, he was also a political cartoonist and illustrator for many advertising campaigns.

His children’s books have been translated into over 20 different languages and are read by young children all over the world. I have a hard time choosing just one. One Fish, Two Fish, …. and Green Eggs and Ham are my personal favorites.

What is your favorite book by this author and are you going to dress up as Thing 1 or Thing 2 on March 2nd?
