FollowDay of Unplugging-Are You Disconnecting
March 6th is the Day of Unplugging. On this date, many community members celebrate this time by unplugging from the virtual matrix, otherwise known as the internet. Technology advancements in regards to computers and the internet is amazing. It is a great way to connect with others from around the world 24/7. However, having the power to connect with people by the touch of a button has deprived people of social interaction in the physical sense.
I mean you can socialize virtually, but what happened to a plain, normal conversation from something other than a keyboard and computer screen or a cellphone and its screen.
On this date, you are encouraged to go meet someone for coffee, go to a show, and to get outdoors. This does not mean to not take your cellphone. Heaven forbid if there is an emergency. It simply means do not take it out to text someone if you are spending time with family or friends at a local event, park or beach. Stay off the internet.. YEAH RIGHT!
