Everyone likes sugar cookies. They are easy to make and even easier to eat. These tasty trees are often the first ones that disappear from your baked Christmas goods. Make sure to make up a batch or two, as I am sure that they will quickly disappear from your cookie jar as well.

Christmas Tree Sugar Cookie Recipe
Ingredients
FOR THE COOKIES
• 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 large egg
• 3 cups whole-wheat pastry flour
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 tsp baking powder
• Wilton Christmas Tree Comfort Grip Stainless Steel Cookie Cutter
FOR THE GARNISH/DESIGN
• Green Decorating Gel Icing
• White Decorating Gel Icing
• Red Decorating Gel Icing
Directions
• Using a mixer, cream together the butter and sugar.
• Add in the egg.
• Add in the vanilla extract.
• Slowly add in the whole-wheat pastry flour 1 cup at a time while mixing on low speed.
• Using a plastic spatula, fold in the baking powder.
• Cover dough in plastic wrap and chill dough in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes.
• Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
• Lay the chilled dough on top of wax paper, then cover the dough again with wax paper on top.
• Using a rolling pin, roll out the dough.
• Cut the dough with the Christmas tree cookie cutters.
• Make for 10-11 minutes.
• Let cookies cool completely before decorating them.
• Using the gel decorating gel icing, outline the trees and then fill in the trees.
• Refrigerate the cookies for 4-5 minutes.
• Place dots on the Christmas trees using the white and red decorating icing gel icing.
