Bee Free Honee Product Review and Giveaway- ENDS AUG 27

Share

I was talking to Katie Sanchez, the owner and maker of Bee Free Honee about sending me a product to test and do a review of, in which she gracefully accepted. She sent me a jar of her product and also offered one up as a giveaway item for one of my blog readers. So in other words one of my lucky readers will be chosen as the product tester for this wonderful product. Now a bit of information about the product and then on to the review!

Bee Free Honee is totally vegan and consists of only three products. Apples, vegan cane sugar and lemon juice. Katie decided to move ahead with this product due to a couple of reasons. One being CCD or Colony Collapse Disorder in which scientists state that the bees in the US will be extinct in 2035 and the other was to be able to provide mothers with children under two years of age an edible product that was safe to eat without any fear of Botulism.

As for the packaging, she is doing this on her own without any sponsors and therefore, does not ship in glass bottles at this moment in time due to the cost. However, she shows and does her part towards helping the environment by utilizing HOPE bottles which are made of plastic, however, they break down more easily and are entirely food safe.

Bee Free Honee is sold in 40 cooperatives and grocery stores in the state of Minnesota as well as in Chicago and sold nationally through Amazon.com. All of her packaging is bought from Twin City companies and all of her apples support those who grow them in the Midwest. She hopes to one day have a place in upstate New York to make her honee, one in Washington State and of course, Minnesota.

She also envisions a plan for her future, if this product takes hold as much as she would like, of course, expand nationally and possibly reach the world market and employ hundreds of people in production facilities that she owns that are powered by wind and solar energy. She also hopes that this product grows to become a product that is found in everyone’s pantry. If this product spreads as she hopes it will and her dream is a reality, she also mentioned that a certain amount of proceeds from the sale of Bee Free Honee will be donated to various charities, such as; research into saving the honey bee, autism , education, and for eradicating hunger in the US.

Let’s do what we can to help support Katie and Bee Free Honee!

Now on to the review!

Bee Free Honee is all natural and vegan and can be used as a replacement for liquid honey. It looks and pours like liquid honey, however, it does not taste like it. It has the same color as bee honey as well as the consistency with pouring and spreading on bread or toast but does not have the heavy sugary taste.

To be completely honest, it is something that takes a little getting used to, especially for those who are inclined to have a sweet tooth. Me, myself, I do not like things saturated in sugar and having children in the home as well as diabetes in the family, I do my part to eliminate as much sugar as I can from our family meals.

Bee Free Honee has that perfect balance, not to sweet nor too tart. I have eaten it spread on buttered bread as well as on top of toast topped with peanut butter and then the Bee Free Honee. Yummy! You can definitely taste the apples. I have this at least three times a week.

So make sure that you go and check out Bee Free Honee and let’s try to help make Katie’s dream a reality. Thank you Katie for doing what you can to help preserve both the honey bee and our planet! More businesses both in the private and public sector should follow your example.
