Beauty and the Beast-Chip Rice Krispie Treats
Children love treats made with Rice Krispie cereal. They also love Disney. Pair the two of these brands up with these Beauty and the Beast-Chip Rice Krispie Treats. They are great as treats or for Disney themed birthday parties.
“Chip” Rice Krispie Treats
Ingredients
3 TBSP unsalted butter
1 package (40) marshmallows
6 cup Kellogg’s Rice Krispie cereal
Directions
- Heat butter and marshmallows on high for 3 minutes.
- Stir after 2 minutes.
- Stir one more minute.
- Add rice krispies.
- Stir with a spoon to mix well.
- Coat hands with butter or shortening before mixing so as not to burn your hands.
- Use wax or parchment paper to press the rice krispie mixture down evenly in the 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan.
- Spray the parchment paper with Pam spray.
- Cool and then cut into 2 inch squares.
- Place the cut rice krispie treats on a parchment lined cookie sheet.
- Put a stick in one end of the treats.
Royal Icing
Royal icing Ingredients
2 egg whites
1 cup powder sugar
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
Yellow and Pink gel food coloring
Black, pink and red Food Writer
Royal Icing Directions-
1. Combine everything but your food coloring in a mixing bowl mixing on medium speed for 4 minutes.
2. If icing is not stiff enough add 1/4 cup powdered sugar.
3. Spoon the icing into a bowl.
4. Take out 4 TBSP , 2 TBSP in each bowl ( 2 TBSP in one bowl).
5. Add in the yellow food coloring in one bowl and the pink gel food coloring to the other bowl…stir well. The rest of the icing stays white.
6. Scoop icing into three frosting bags with a #2 tip.
7. First bag with the white icing, the second bag with the yellow icing, and the third bag with the pink icing.
Chip
1. Locate a picture of “Chip” on Google… print the picture in color. Tape this picture with small numerous images on it to a cookie sheet.
2. Tape wax paper (covering the copies of the “Chip”) to the cookie sheet .
3. Using a small pastry bag filled with the yellow royal icing and a #2 tip. Start by outlining “Chip” first with the yellow icing.
4. Fill in “Chip” with the white icing. Allow the icing to dry for 30 minutes.
5. Following a printed colored picture of “Chip” use your black Food Writer to draw in the eyebrows, eyes, mouth and other special markings.
6. Inside the mouth using the pink and red Food Writer color in the tongue as shown in the picture.
7. Using the white royal icing place two white dots for his eyes.
8. Using the bright pink royal icing fill in the bottom of “Chip’s” cup with pink outlined with the yellow.
9. Follow the colors on the printed picture.
10. Allow to dry for 5-10 hours.
11. Ensure that “Chip”is dry, gently touch one of them with your finger if it allows you to push in on the icing it needs more time to dry .
12. If it is dry then “Chip” will have a hard feeling not allowing you to push in on it.
13. Cut the wax paper holding the completed “Chips” into squares surrounding the completed “Chip”.
14. If “Chip” is dry peel them off the wax paper and place on the decorated rice krispie treat.
15. Use different colors of royal icing to add lines on the each of the treats. Place “Chip” on each one in the center of the treat.
These are adorable. I will make them for my Nieces first Birthday.
