Floral Sugar Cookies
These Floral Sugar Cookies will help you to celebrate Spring. Serve them to family and guests as a snack with afternoon tea or surprise Mom and serve them as a Mother’s Day Dessert. These cookies taste like vanilla and the floral design looks like you spent a lot of time creating them. Your family and guests will think you took hours to make them, but we won’t tell them!

Instructions
  1. 1. Preheat oven to 350°. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper and set aside. 2. Add eggs and butter to a medium sized mixing bowl. Use a fork to mix well. 3. Add the flour, baking powder, and sugar to a large mixing bowl. Blend well. 4. Add the vanilla to the wet mixture. Stir well. Add the wet ingredients to the dry. Mix together. 5. Dust the counter with additional flour to prevent sticking and roll out the dough. 6. Using the flower cookie cutter, cut out 18 flower shapes. Put them on the cookie sheets. 8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until just beginning to lightly brown. 9. Cool on cookie sheets for 5 minutes. Transfer to wire racks to cool completely. DIRECTIONS TO DECORATE SUGAR COOKIES 1. Line 2 cookie sheets with wax paper. Set aside. 2. Cut each sour straw in half lengthwise. Cut each piece into 6 pieces. You now have 48 pieces for the stems of the flowers. 3. Place the pink chocolate chips into the top of a double boiler. Turn heat on low and stir occasionally until melted. 4. Pour the melted pink chocolate into a shallow bowl. Dip the front of each cookie into the chocolate. Place on cookie sheets to harden. 5. Immediately place 2-3 flowers on each cookie (before the chocolate hardens). 6. Add 2-3 sour straw stems and press down gently. 7. Let the cookies “set” for 30 minutes to allow the chocolate to finish hardening.
