Cap Shield Cookies
Almost every little boy has a superhero. One of the fan favorites is Captain America. Bring some superhero powers to your child’s birthday party with these Captain America Shield Cookies and help to kick start their imagination! The cookies are easy to make and delicious to eat. And the kids love them!

Instructions
  1. Mix together the butter and sugar together in a mixing bowl until it is smooth and creamy. Add in the eggs, one at a time. Mix well Add in the vanilla. In another bowl, sift the four, baking powder, and salt together. Add the dry mixture to the wet mixture. Continue mixing to make sure all ingredients are thoroughly blended. Use your hands or a wooden spoon to form the dough into a ball. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap. Put the dough into the refrigerator for 6 hours or overnight. Check to see if the dough is firm. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Take the cookie dough out of the refrigerator and sit it out to soften up a bit. Put some flour out on the cutting board, rub flour on the rolling pin, and work some flour into the batter if it seems to be sticky. Roll the dough out on the cutting board or counter top. Use the cookie cutter to cut out your cookies. Line the cookie sheet with parchment (waxed)paper. Use a metal spatula to move the cut cookies to the parchment lined cookie sheet. Bake at 325 degrees for 8 minutes. Check to see if the cookies are thoroughly baked. Take the cookies off of the cookie sheet and place them on a wire rack to cool completely.
Icing Directions
  1. Combine all ingredients, except the food coloring in a mixing bowl and mix on medium speed for 4 minutes. If icing is not stiff enough, add in 1/4 cup powdered(icing)sugar. Divide the icing into 3 equal bowls. The first bowl of icing remains white. Add several drops of red gel food coloring to the second bowl. Stir to mix. Add several drops of blue gel food coloring to the third bowl. Stir to mix. Spoon each color of icing into individual frosting bags with #2 tips. Twist the open end of the bag to push the icing to the tip. Use a edible marker, draw on Captain America shield onto the circle cookie. Use the white icing to fill in the star and one of the rings. Wait 10 minutes Use the red icing to fill in the rest of the rings. Use the blue icing to fill in the circle around the star. Let the icing dry for 4 hours before eating!
